Weekends are very crowed and loud.

This campground is a hidden gem! Site 13 is such a great spot. It has beautiful views of the lake and privacy from the sites next to it. I loved that I could walk down to the lake from my site. The bathrooms, showers, and dish washing room were very clean and in good shape. I really liked that there were multiple spots for drinking water & trashcans throughout the campground. The hiking trail was well maintained, but keep an eye out for snakes! When I went it was a little too cold for swimming, but I did Paddleboard around the lake which was so nice. Overall a great spot and cant wait to come back.

One of the most beautiful settings of all the eastern N.A. Parks. Waking each day to the call of Sandhill Cranes with morning mists rising from the lake is simply magical. The campground is superbly maintained and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and so helpful. Extensive trails enrich the immediate experience and close proximity to kayaking opportunities including nearby Juniper Springs and Alexander Springs make Clearwater a fabulous base for diverse adventures and discoveries.

I hate to say how great this place is to avoid more people discovering it but it is one of the best places we have camped which is why it is our go to place to camp.

We were on Site 13 in the first loop, which had a nice view of the lake. The sites are generally well separated, but the pads are somewhat narrow for maneuvering and many of the sites will need leveling for RVs. The staff and hosts were friendly and attentive. We camped on the weekdays right before Christmas, so there were not that many campers. The bathhouses were well maintained, so no issues there other than the shower heads needing replacement. There is a nice trail around the lake and a trailhead for the Florida Trail a short hike away along the entrance driveway.

Lovely Place. Nice and quiet. Caught a few nice bass. Did the hike around the lake a few times. We did experieince a few chigger bites so be aware and use repellant. We will definately be back!
