Great little park. Easy to get around. Rental equipment in great shape. Staff was friendly and informative.

The staff was overbearing and obnoxious. I went there to get away from stress and people and had to deal with overzealous employees constantly reminding me of rules i know better than they do. One chased me down in a golf cart in a frantic tizzy because i didnt stop and discuss my entry into the campground, even though I had a big day glo green registration tag hanging prominently from my mirror and entered at 3mph for all to see. For Pete's sake, you charge $40 a night for a parking space, ...leave the guests alone. We arent children and no one is trying to sneak a peak at your parking lot. Get the wierd control freaks out of there.

We were in loop B our campsite was very spacious. The bathroom was clean. It was too cold to swim in the springs, but the water looked very nice. The trails for hiking were closed due to needing repaired. I was really looking forward to be able to hike. The wash sink area in between the men and the womens bathroom was shut down and locked. I was also told that it needed to be repaired and that if we wanted to wash any of our camping dishes, we had to go to a different loop which was an inconvenience. I feel that every loop should have their own working bathrooms and wash sink area . We probably will not go back to this park until the trails are open and definitely will not be staying in loop B if we do go back because I have to have someplace to wash my Camping dishes.

Always love coming here. My favorite spring!

We had a great time at the spring, but received a citation from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission for not having life jackets or whistles in our kayak. We did not know about that rule. We wish there was a sign posted concerning state laws related to kayaking at the kayak launch. We launched our kayaks from the park launch, but didn't see any signs at the launch or instructions on the website concerning state laws. We feel a bit miffed.

Great place to unplug.
Staff were fabulous very helpful. A canoe trip is very relaxing.
Campsites very well maintained and spaced out. Only downside Loop B
Bathroom was out of order.
Will definitely be be going back there.

We camped for 3 nights in March 2021 (Spring Break). The camp sites were nice...included a nice table, grill, fire pit, and bear box. The Spring was also nice to swim in. It had plenty of space to sit/grill/swim and everyone was nice. The biggest problem was the bathroom situation. Apparently when the camp sites are full, they have to close down the water supply to 2 of the 4 camp site loops. That meant walking to a different loop every time someone needed to use the restroom, which was inconvenient. It also meant double the number of people using each restroom (yuck) and having to walk further (or drive) each time we needed to refill our water containers. Another disappointment was that the hiking trail was closed during our entire visit. I believe it’s due to the boardwalk trail needing repairs. Unfortunately, you need to take the trail in order to access the on-shore fishing area; therefore...no fishing. Some other campers noted that they’ve been camping at Alexander Springs for years and haven’t had these problems before, so hopefully they won’t be permanent issues. They just definitely put a damper on our camping trip. If they fix those situations, Alexander Springs would really be awesome to stay at.

Easy access to Ocala Nat. Forest. Short walk to Alexander Springs. Nice hiking trail around the springs
