We spent the July 4th weekend camping at Alexander Springs Recreation Area and had an amazing experience! Our campsite was clean, spacious, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff truly made our visit exceptional. Everyone we met was friendly, professional, and always happy to help, chat, or offer great tips. We especially enjoyed talking with Donny down at the canoe launch, such a kind and knowledgeable person. The staff at both the gatehouse and the store went above and beyond to assist us whenever we needed anything. The springs themselves are beautiful and refreshing. Well definitely be back to enjoy this little slice of paradise again!

This area has developed so nicely over the years. We last visited about 20 years ago. The facilities are still in good condition but the camping loops have been greatly improved w the paving of the sites. The springs and spring run are still perfect. The staff were very friendly and courteous

The site is very nice and clean, I thought that the spaces between the camping areas were more distant, which makes one bother the neighbor with the "noise" and vice versa, We liked this space a lot (loopB-18)

Kind and helpful service on admission. Beautiful paddleboard up Spring Creek; there are always a variety of birds plus turtles and gators to see. Nice springs to snorkel and see. Clean and spacious camp sites and facilities. Will return!

Amazing time at Alexander Springs! The campsites were a good size, facilities were nice, and the town Eustis was amazing. Not great place to work from if youre using a Spectrum hotspot, but we loved going to Eustis when I needed to work. We will definitely be back!

The site was nicely kept. The fire pit ring was well kept and not rusted out. The size of the campsite was huge and definitely big enough for a 5 person group. The locations of the potable water and bathrooms were convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The day use areas were really nice and with the spring on a hot day, I would highly recommend the park. The hiking trails were great and had some super interesting features along them.

We were the only campers there and we were in site 18 which is closest to the spring and is also a very nice large site. Very quiet. My 13 yr old son and I had a great time camping, swimming and kayakingwe will return.

I've been coming to Alexander Springs since I was a year old with my parents. Now with a family of my own we still enjoy Alexander Springs and all it has to offer. The campground and beach are beautiful and well maintained. A canoe ride down the river is a must do to enjoy the true scenery of the area. This really is a hidden gem of Florida if you're looking to relax and get away from the hype of Orlando and the tourists.

Everyone at Alexander Springs is nice and very helpful. The sites are big, and there's a lot of privacy. And the bathrooms are clean. The whole experience was a lot of fun. I have only 3 recommendations: 1) The showers were scalding hot. There was no way to change the temperature. 2) We were in tents, and it was nearly impossible to drive a stake into the ground. I had to borrow a hammer from another camper, and still had much difficulty getting my stakes in. 3) The large number of rocks on the site made tent camping uncomfortable. We spent a lot of time moving as many rocks as possible. For the price of tent-camping at Alexander Springs, I would think sites would be a little more conducive to tent campers.

The facilities were clean, campground was clean and easy to find. Overall, this was a wonderful trip. I only wished I stayed longer. I truly enjoyed snorkeling in the Springs.

Alexander Springs is great. We've been going there for over a decade. Being able to book a site online the day of now is great. For years I've gone there and there would be a bunch of empty sites because they had to be reserved 3 days in advance. The Timiquan trail has been closed for about two years now and is one of the best parts of the park. This needs to be reopened. I wonder if I could donate or volunteer to get it back open.

First of all we were not advised about the bathrooms/showers not working and we had to walk quite a distance to the next one. And there the men's bathroom was not clean and the sink did not work. Also the public tap water near our site was off. The overall campsite was fine.
Now let's talk about the "recreation facilities"....
-The "boardwalk trail", which goes around the spring, was closed, and it seems as if it has been closed for a long time.
-The canoe rental was actually available but the website said it was not. We found this out the day we were leaving.
None of this was mentioned at the time of the reservation.
In general I was very dissapointed because the park is not kept up as other National parks.
I recommend if you are planning on visiting this park, or any other managed by the same people, to find out somehow the real situation before traveling there.
