this is one of our favorite locations. The spring, the river with the canoes and the trails for bikes are amazing. The bathrooms need some work. In any case love the place.

We had such a great time! The restrooms and campsites were clean. The staff was very friendly. The Easter Egg hunt was fun, but the area for older kids had no eggs. I don’t think they realized so many people would show up. The spring was beautiful. We can’t wait to come back!

Great park. Not too crowded. Close enough to walk to. Kayak launch.

The Alexander spring is beautiful and a great swimming area. The campsites are fairly large with good separation and foliage. Lots of birds and shade. The campsites have become low depressions that pool water when it rains with exposed roots (ankle twisters) from years of using leaf blowers and they have blown all of the sand away! Watch your step especially at night! The park employees mostly are nice and helpful but there are major problems. The bathrooms are often closed and are not cleaned regularly! 200+ people camping and no bathrooms open, TERRIBLE! Gift shop was closed so no ice cream or souvenirs. The company that was awarded the contract to manage the park only cares about getting people to pay the $10 to come in and swim and campers are a PIA and ignored. I have been camping in Alexander/Juniper/Salt Sp. and other Ocala camp areas for 40 years and this is the worst I have ever seen. It's really sad to see this beautiful park being run so badly. There were many other issues we noticed while there but I think you got my point. I hope the current company running Juniper and Alexander is not awarded another contract. Good Luck, GO ><>*

We have been camping at Alexander Springs for many years and have never been disappointed like we were this year! The park facilities were in disrepair and in desperate need of attention and care. The bathrooms were closed numerous times while we were there for our 6 day visit. When all bathrooms were open, not ONCE did the bathrooms get cleaned! It was disgusting, unsanitary and unacceptable for your visitors. The girls trash can overflowed with feminine products and was a hazard to our young girls. Also, there was very little water pressure, and several times our spigots were not even providing water. We had a group of 17 people in numerous sites, and that is unhealthy and unacceptable. We were not given any warnings about lack of fresh water or issues with your bathrooms! Finally, you allow 100's of park visitors inside your gates knowing the campground is already compromised with water pressure issues? And, if the park is taking in $10 per person, can't some of that money be utilized for park services? Possibly consider port o potties, as even the main bathrooms were out and they were STILL letting more people in the park. It would help keep return customers/campers coming back year after year. Highly disappointing. Finally, why can't the camp store be open? When we went to rent canoes, there is no sign on the doors on how to proceed with any kind of rental. It took us 10-15 minutes to track down a park person, then get redirected up to the ranger station. Just put a sign on the door! We love this park and hope whoever is managing this property gets their S*#T together, no pun intended. Last, but certainly not least, trying to CHANGE a reservation at recreaton.gov was a total nightmare and we spent HOURS trying to get our reservations modified. Not only did our group find it time consuming, frustrating and ridiculous..so did various other campers we talked to. Come on, we love camping, y'all can do better ;o)
Excellent place to go camping, great sites and clean bathrooms

We loved the hosts that took care of the campground during our stay, very helpful, answered all questions and were all the time working non stop. I would definitely come back. The bathrooms are clean, with showers. Swimming at the springs was awesome, it was nice to see families gathering together but yet practicing socially distance. A very nice place to visit. If you swim at the springs make sure to swim all the way towards the actual spring were the water is coming from, the color of the water is turquoise blue and you can see little caves. Three years in a roll camping on a tent there to celebrate New Year's and will do it this year again. Another nearby spring to visit is Salts Springs, unbelievable to see blue crabs and shrimp crawling under you in that part of Florida. Very cool!
