We enjoyed our stay. We had a ice shady spot, it was quiet and well maintained.

Nice, well-kept park. Full hookup was a surprise to find in a national forest. It's close to other activities within the Ocala National Forest. We took advantage of paddling the 7 mile Juniper Run which we love. We did our own shuttle. Like that this recreational area has kept plenty of beautiful oaks around the campground. Very quiet at night as well and dark -- we liked that. After all, you are camping in nature!

This feels like two campgrounds in one. You should just tell everyone on the RV side that's it's 55 and over because everyone there, including the hosts and staff, act like it's a retirement community. I didn't spend much time over in the primitive area but, if I had to make assumptions, it seems more of the party crowd. It's a tough park to manage. The hosts and staff are on power trips, and wear fake smiles. I would assume they have to because of the party crowd. Or, maybe it's from customers complaining about their neighbor. Either way, if you stay at the RV side and don't fit in, I feel like you are harshly judged, and the hosts/staff give you a hard time. The spring was amazing to snorkel in, however. We saw blue crab, jack crevalle, Striped Mullet, Sailfin catfish, and bluegill. This was the highlight of the trip. If it weren't for this, I would give it one star.Overall the camping was not a pleasant experience for us. This campground, the customers, the hosts, and the staff, need more of the "love your neighbor, as yourself" attitude.

Excellent campground with some of the best hosts Ive encountered. One of our favorite parks!

This was a fun park to visit. I was a bit surprised at how close all of the site were to each other, but they were positioned fairly well for privacy. We had a good visit and especially enjoyed swimming in the Salt Spring.

We love Salt Springs Recreation area for camping in our motorhome. The campground has full hookups on every site and the setting is peaceful. We enjoyed walking to the fishing area to see turtles sunning, and manatees swimming below the surface. The America the Beautiful discount makes it a great value and, best of all, it isn't far from home for us.

This is one of the most perfect campgrounds we’ve ever visited. We’ve paid big bucks to stay in private ones that weren’t this nice. The grounds were emasculate. The showers and restrooms were spotless. The area is very quiet—-no loud engines, screaming kids, barking dogs…. We loved that the sites were so widely spaced giving a great sense of privacy. We loved it so that we extended a day and didnt want to leave then. Now if only you could warm up Salt Springs a few degrees. That was the coldest 72 degrees I’ve ever felt!!! We’re so glad this campground is so close to our home and we look forward to returning. We had an unforgettable 4 day respite there.

Second time staying at Salt Springs and both times were wonderful. The campground well maintained and the staff was always pleasant. Very quiet at night. Enjoy swimming in the springs the most. Glad we remembered to bring our mask snorkel and fins this time. The fish are amazing and the water was very clear. See you at Manatee this time. Seems that when the weather is cold the Manatee come for the warmer water. The water was like they say 72°. This is also a very dog friendly park. Seems most every camper had a dog or two and they were all well behaved. No excessive and everyone took good care of their pets. I’m sure we will come down to Salt Springs again.
