We have been camping here for 20 years at least. Its gone way down hill. First of all they had more that 20 available walk up sites, we asked if we could switch to one in the shade because the one we booked was full sun and we had no idea. We were told no then they would be stuck with our site ( even tho I booked sites become walk up sites online anyways) . The spring only had one entrance now that is so covered with algae that my son slipped and multiple full grown adults slipped in just the few days we were there. When we asked why arent they scrubbing it they said it just comes back . I could barely get out holding our baby, its an extreme hazard . Now there is fences everywhere by the spring and the boat ramp consists of chunks of concrete, terrible. For how expensive it is here this was our last time .

Camped in June and the spring was amazing. The sites are clean and it's easy in and out. We will be back next June.

Pleasant surrounds and the Rangers are most helpful. The Spring is beautiful and very refreshing. Clean rest facilities and very roomy. I wish the restrooms had hooks! I don't understand the thing with parks and no hooks in the restrooms?!? We are all travelers hand carrying our toiletries,.. yet no place to put your towel, ditty bag, wash cloth, clothes. The counter is not always the answer or the place...
Good

We had a great stay at Salt Springs Campground. Can't say enough about the phenomenal staff at the swimming area, though. One particular staff member, Jenna, was absolutely phenomenal. She went above and beyond in making sure all guests were following rules. Keeping alcohol out of the park and keeping the ruckus down! She was professional and courteous. She made sure the entire swimming area was a SAFE place for families, as it should be. Her efforts are greatly appreciated!!!! Other central Florida Springs should take note!!!!

Excellent facility. HOWEVER, turning campers away pending exact check-in is ridiculous policy creating traffic hazard, wasting fuel. This facility has very large day use area, more importantly, guest can enjoy the spring area while the temperature is conducive to swimming.

This is a nice campground. The sites a little close together and not much privacy is available. We had a smaller site on the end so we got a lot of traffic going by. The parks is very busy on the weekends.

Always wonderful staff and experiences at Salt Springs. Word of warning that many of the campground spots are nowhere close to being level. Come prepared which blocks to level. The campground is terrific though and the sites are spacious.

Great campground. Some activities would interesting, such as a tour with the history of the springs. Why itโs called salt springs. The crabs, the fish, manatee- why the manatees come. Nature talk, what kind of animals.. maybe once a day.

The grounds were clean and immaculately maintained. The sites were generous in size with full hookups. Staff was friendly and helpful. The salt spring was a must see with blue crabs ambling around, as well as large schools of fish exploring the reef-like bottom. Salt Springs Recreation Area is a beautiful camping destination - we'll definitely be back!
Very clean one of the best parks in Florida thank you very much for everything
