We came for the full hookups but stayed for the Forest experience. While its a 0.5-1 hour drive to the Villages or Blue Spring State Park, we really enjoyed our 12 night stay. There are a few more rules to observe, but responsible campers/pet owners will have no issues. In site 27, the low sun in late January early February means no shade from our awning. Well try for the opposite side of the road next time. Excellent laundromat very close as well as diner, Dollar General, and hardware store. A large number of sites are first come first serve, which is unusual in our experience. America the Beautiful Senior Pass discount is only applied to camping, not the extra utility fees. It was still a value at about $40/night net.

Salt Springs Recreation Area is a very well laid out facility. Hosts appeared to take their jobs seriously, "inviting" one exceptionally loud group to depart early, making the campground much more pleasant for the rest of us.

Excellent campground at a beautiful location. Spacious, level, well maintained and friendly staff. The Salt Springs are an easy walk from the campsites and are amazing.

We will be making a yearly stop here. So much to do in the area as well.

The place was great. The Spring amazing. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The primitive spots are a little tight. I wish I would have switched to a first come first serve site when I got there because they looked more natural. Overall great

The RV sites are very nice. The park was very quiet while we are there. I highly recommend getting to the spring at sunrise. The sun comes up over the spring run, and I saw 3 otters swimming over the spring boils.

One of the best Florida parks….nice and spacious with lots of shade. The spring is wonderful in the heat of summer. Stayed there multiple times in the last year.

Very clean facility, sites were all paved and very open/easy to park. Space behind our site was very roomy to have a fire and not feel like we were too close to other campers. Spring and boat ramp area was easily accessible.

Only negative I noticed was using a gas power-washer to clean restrooms at 8 in the morning when an electric model would have done the job and been nearly silent!
Otherwise it was a great experience and hope to go back again sometime !

We had an amazing time at Salt Springs. Stayed for 9 nights on two different sites. When we went on line to book, there was only a site available for two nights. Once we arrived, we were than able to book more under the first come first serve policy. All employees were very friendly. On our second site, we camped over next to some of the employees sites. Although we didnt get to see them often as they appear to stay very busy doing there job, we did get to talk to "Mike" next to us a few times. Such a great family-known as the "partee bus" on Instagram. Not that they are a bunch of partiers, that just happens to be there last name and they converted a bus into an rv. The springs were beautiful and everything clean and well kept. See you next year.
