Very nice campground and well maintained. Bath house was very clean and the spring area was beautiful as always. We paddled Juniper Springs on Friday- the water was very low and there were a lot of obstacles to go under & over. Was a fun day, but definitely not for beginning paddlers. Saturday we went to Silver Springs. Once we got past the chaos at the put-in, it was a beautiful paddle. There are motor boats on this river alongside the kayaks, canoes and paddle boards.

This was one of the most well run and maintained campgrounds in the recreation. gov system we have stayed at in all our numerous trips around the country since 2019.Loved the cleanliness of showers, frequent checks by grounds attendants. Only minor complaint was noise from gas powered leaf blowers cleaning pads. We enjoyed the vibrant downtown in Ocala. Restaurants and music on square are great. We drove about 1 hour and 15 minutes to Ormond Beach and enjoyed the quiet beach there. One day we went to Daytona Beach beach but it was quite crowded but an interesting cultural experience with partying and cars and loud music up and down the car area.I snorkeled in Salt Spring and it was interesting to swim with the mullets. Another swimmer saw a blue crab when she dived into one of the deep holes. The cold water April 25 was refreshing and tolerable with my black rash guard top absorbing the sun. Visited Silver Glenn Springs and were charged half the usual entrance fee by showing our senior interagency card. It is a popular picnic and swimming area for families but not appealing to my husband nor me. We hiked the two trails there and they were fine but unremarkable. Overall the campground is lovely wit good spacing, level pads, quiet with no loud partiers.

We loved camping at Salt springs! The sites are clean and level. The staff was helpful and nice.We enjoy having full hookups, its welcoming for dogs and good for biking. We had pretty good cell service and no WiFi so good week to unplug. Loved having firewood delivered to our site for our nightly campfire too. Also perfect for paddle boarding on the river and swimming in the springs with a couple manatee. Overall an excellent place for us.

Water shoes for the springs are a must, steps very slippery. Clean park with good hosts.

Salt Springs was a nice, quite campground. The bath house was very clean. There were camp hosts very much available throughout the campground. Sites were large and mostly shaded, but there was no privacy between each of them. Water pressure was low and reading 35psi coming out of the faucet. The "sewer sink" was something different that we have never encountered at any other campground before.

Immaculately maintained park. A small army of maintenance staff always working, even one evening at 930pm in the bathhouse.Temperatures were in the high 20s a couple days during our stay, but both campground bathhouses had windows open, whole house fans operating along with all ceiling fans on high. Obviously park maintenance/camp hosts do NOT want anyone to use the bathhouses. I asked park maintenance why the wind tunnel in the bathhouse and I was told it was an attempt to keep mold eradicated. Good news, the bathhouses were both super clean!Sites are close together, so there is no privacy.Quiet hours not observed or enforced. Weekend was loud and rowdy day and night! No notice daytime water outage for 2 hours. No park WIF and no T-MOBILE cell service. No public phones available for emergency calls.During our 8 day stay, never saw a USFS vehicle drive thru the campground.Entrance gates closed at 8pm requiring code to enter. No street lights in campground so good dark sky viewing if neighbors have their rig lights off.

We had the most beautiful view we've ever had while looking out the windows of our RV! We had an end unit on the border of the camping area. We had a nice lot with around 10 or 12 huge live oaks with Spanish moss. Behind the trees was a hedge, covering a fence and woods beyond. Just what you see in RV commercials. Had decent room between us and our neighbors. Wonderful camp host Nema. Our battery was dead on our toad and she jumped us off and took us on a tour of the park while we ran the engine to charge it up. The salt springs were a pleasant surprise, we didn't even know about them! We were trying to get close to Silver Springs, another really nice place to visit. The salt spring was beautiful, water crystal clear, but pretty chilly at 75 degrees or so year round. Verizon coverage was marginal, but they had not advertised having cell service or wifi so we were pleasantly surprised to have any coverage at all! Full hookups.

Beautiful park with full hookups. The Springs are gorgeous. We were there in January 2022 and saw several manatees in the area. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina and enjoyed a ride on the lake. Saw two bald eagles, a Belted Kingfisher, and some otters and fished a bit. It was a perfect day The campground is well maintained and the rest rooms are very clean. Ronnie at the marina was very helpful and entertaining to talk with. All park staff are very knowledgeable about the hiking trails and things to do in the area. This is our third visit and we will continue to come to Salt Springs. We enjoy it in the winter months when it is less crowded.

The campground is nice with good space between campers and mostly level sites. The campground managers and workers were a little difficult to work with. We had to move twice in our 10 day stay and even though they knew where we were moving to they refused to let us park there, even blocking the site one time when my husband tried to park the RV even though I was 30 seconds away with the tag in my car. I understand following the rules but that makes no sense and just gave us a bad feel for the place. We’ve stayed at many rec.gov sites and the camp hosts are always really nice and easy to work with.

Every staff member was so friendly and helpful. The camp grounds were kept clean and the restroom well maintained. Of all the staff Ron helped me the most. He new the dumpsters were full because of the holiday so he went around collecting trash from every camp site and took it to dumpster that could accept the waste. Had a camp fire every night and enjoyed the quiet evenings. We will return. Keep up the good work.

Have never had a bad experience at Salt Springs. Only complaint is that during winter months it is almost impossible to get a site. (snow birds)
