We were in the camper section. There are large trees and spacious campsites, but the area is free of undergrowth so the sites are clearly visible to one another. While you wont be secluded, theres plenty of space so you can choose to interact with your neighbors, or not. The parking area of each site is paved and level. The bathhouse is very clean. I wasnt crazy about the shower design (low volume, high pressure), but theyre workable. Most of the RVs while we were there were very large, so most people didnt use the bathhouse. The Bear Swamp Trail adjacent to the campground is a very nice loop, part through woods and part a boardwalk through a swampy area. Youll reach the swamp more quickly if you walk the loop clockwise. (If you walk counterclockwise, youll start to wonder why swamp is part of the name.)The Salt Spring swimming area is a wide, fairly shallow basin of cool, very clear spring water, only mildly salty. Lots of picnic tables under big, beautiful trees. It is popular with the locals and was hopping with families when we were there on Saturday. Much quieter on Monday.Silver Springs State Park, about half an hour away, is touristy but fun. We enjoyed the half-hour glass bottom boat tour, and really, really enjoyed renting a tandem kayak and paddling/floating down the Silver River. It is five miles from the park to the takeout, and the shuttle back to the park is included in the rental. You can spend 2 to 5 hours on the river. The water is crystal clear and beautifully blue. We missed seeing the manatee with her calf that we heard about from others, but saw alligators, birds, and turtles. The wild monkeys, descended from escapees from a Tarzan movie shoot decades ago, werent in evidence on our trip, but apparently often are.

Always a great place to visit. The springs, the lake, camp fires - what else can I say?

The staff were wonderful. Checkin was delightful and they were extremely helpful. We were warned about severe weather and told a staff member would alert the campground in case of a tornado warning. The spring is a beautiful swimming hole and the wildlife is amazing.
Had a 3 night reservation. When we checked in we requested an extended stay for 4 additional nights. The staff was very accommodating in finding us a site that we could stay in for 7 nights. The campground is very busy in February .... it appeared they were full during our stay. Lot's of great hiking and springs within 5 miles of campground. Also, check out Odd Todd's Taco truck across from the campground entrance ..... fresh food very convenient to the campground.
