It appears the bear boxes have been repaired. Much appreciated! Very clean campsites.

This used to be on our short list of favorite campgrounds, but now it's under new management.Guest wifi is gone. I had no phone service with T-Mobile, and had been planning to rely on wifi calling to let family know I was OK. Had to go out every day to use wifi in a business down the road. The campground is not being well maintained. The road in the tent area is severely rutted. At least two water taps are broken and the others drip, or spray you when you try to fill your water jug. One toilet quit working on Saturday and was still out of order Friday when we left.My husband said the men's showers were hot enough, but the women's showers were only slightly warmer than lukewarm. A huge fan blows directly on you while you are showering, and that makes you even colder. The maintenance staff rake leaves every day and then burn them in the middle of the campground, leaving them to smolder all night. After breathing smoke all night for several nights, I asked to be moved, and the attendant tried to tell me they were not burning leaves, even though the leaves were smoldering as we were speaking. Eventually my husband was able to talk her into giving us another site. She was so rude that I reported the incident to the company's national headquarters. They did apologize for my bad experience, but they said she was one of their best employees. I certainly wouldn't want to encounter one of their worst employees. The spring is beautiful and the campground boat launch is nice, but we won't be back unless there is another change of management.

I enjoyed Salt Springs! Bring a tent camper though, I will say that the sites are not that private. I prefer Alexander Springs. I have a three star rating bc when we stayed temps were in the 50s during the day and 30s at night. The showers were being fixed bc there was no hot water in the tent campers bathroom. No one let you know before hand. There was no warning. We also had a bad experience with a volunteer misinforming us about tying a rope up around a tree. We had tree protectors. However, some volunteers were extremely friendly and I love all spots in ONF. Just may not stay here again as a renter.
