Salt Springs is an AWESOME location. We enjoyed the primitive camping area for 4 days. Nice quiet campground with lots of things to do. Really like the boat ramp amenity which provides access to Salt Springs Run to Lake George. Have been camping here for 12 years, GREAT place.

Our campsite was overrun with fire ants that attacked us relentlessly. The fire ant hills look similar to the piles of bark and leaves everywhere so we traipsed through them before we realized and had hundreds of fire ants swarming our feet. We couldn’t use our fire pit and had to sit at the table with our feet up to avoid more ant attacks. It’s the worst and most painful camping experience I’ve ever had. We talked to the office and they said pour water on the ant hills. That just made them spread wider throughout our site. The office said they’d come by and see what they could do, and they didn’t. We packed up and left that miserable place 2 nights early. My feet are still healing from all the fire ant bites a week later.

Lovely campground with nice trails and the Spring is beautiful!
