Our campground hosts are the best! Linda and her husband make it a truly relaxing, safe and enjoyable time and place to appreciate the outdoors with family and friends. We have been coming to this campground for over 10 years at the same time every year and we know what to expect when Linda and her husband are on duty. They notice arriving campers campground rules at check-in and remind anyone politely if one or two rules are forgotten. All the accommodations and bathrooms are clean (and recently painted and updated!) The loading and dock area is preserved for campground campers (it is not a day use area) and us campers especially appreciate that! We will continue to return to Hoodview and rely on, hopefully, that these campground hosts are there to greet us. The camp sites are spacious, free from litter/debris from previous campers and easy access to potable water and restroom areas.

I booked a reservation at Hood View campground for the weekend of June 25-27. On Sunday morning, we ate breakfast and headed down to the lake to enjoy the sunshine. Knowing that check-out was at 12, we made sure to pack up and leave the camp site before then, at 11:30am. My husband moved our vehicle to a forest road, while the rest of our group relaxed by the lake. At 12:30pm, the female camp host (Linda?) came up to us and was extremely rude, stating that check-out was at noon and this was not a day use site. We responded by saying sorry, and that there was a misunderstanding. We knew check-out was at noon and made sure to leave our site by then, but did not realize that extended to the lake as well. We said there's no problem and we will pack up our things and leave. We were surprised that her response was to continue yelling at us and waving her finger on our faces. She continued to harass and yell at us as we started to pack up. My husband went to get our vehicle to load our things, and yet again, 10 minutes later, she returned and continued to yell and harass us. I have never been so disrespected by a park host before and her behavior was extremely disappointing. The campground itself was great, but until they replace the camp host, I would not recommend this campground.
