Sites are rustic but space is as described. Vault toilets are clean and dont smell bad. Drinking water tastes good and is plentiful. The host is full of pertinent information and friendly. Hikes are very beautiful and so many miles to discover. The recreational area is well maintained.

One of my favorite places to camp, so many beautiful trails near by.

for not having a host this year and the water pump going out, it could have been better for those of us who showed up the first weeks. The second day i was there i found out the host was suppose to be up in about a week or so with pallets of wood which never happened while i was there so firewood was not an easy issue. That being said aside from hauling expensive wood from down in north bend if you dont have a cord of wood sitting around to drive up made having a fire an annoyingly expensive side issue. Otherwise its a nice campground when I have been up there and seemed very clean. although as i said i didnt use the water i brought my own and dont do outhouses so didnt look but seemed ok. Id personally give the trip a 3.5 or closer to 3 to be honest from not having the host there and the ranger ( very nice ) i talked to was friendly and pretty helpful on info except how to get wood lol since unlike it says there is not much fallen wood laying around to go gather so plan if you do go up and fires are ok, you may want to be prepared for that and water which are pretty important for camping. It is a very nice looking place and area full of trails. Personally it feels like its made for I believe its mainly the Discover pass to check out miles and miles of hikes and all kind of places but you do need a discover pass to park at this area from what i know :) hope this ramble helps someone abit
