While it was certainly not the park's fault that there were wildfires at nearby Mt. Rainier and thus a lot of smoke in the air, there were a few other things that made us turn around and head home shortly after arriving at our campsite. There was no dump station available due to the drought and strained septic system (we spoke with the camp host upon our arrival), which could've been referenced on the website. (The nearest dump station is 33 miles away, in the city of Enumclaw.) Had we known, we would've drained our grey and black tanks on the road as we have a camper van and our tanks are fairly small. The road noise next to our campsite was really noticeable, though I'm sure it gets much quieter at night. There were only a few threaded water spigots available to fill our fresh water tank, and the closest one was not near our campsite. I know these may be relatively small issues, but combined with the very real fire danger at the park, we decided to forego our two nights' stay and consider the money we spent to be a donation to the park.Given how many rave reviews Silver Springs has, we were disappointed that our experience there was not similarly excellent.

Amazing campground, close to the main road, and bathrooms had full working water, toilets, and were well lit.

Great location for Mt Rainier - especially Sunrise. Lots of trees so Starlink did not work. You are definitely unplugged as no cell service either, but we took this as a positive. Close to White River. Lots of creeks running through park. Restrooms were clean. Hosts Michael and wife were great. They really worked to keep things clean and help campers. There is a bit of road noise, but the road is not busy and the closer to River (and further from road) it is irrelevant. It was a great base for seeing Mt Rainier. Quiet, clean and safe.

campsite was great, campground is clean. no running water in the north loop restroom, and the toilet was non-functional. it was like this mid June as well.
