Places like this are pure magic. This one is made so by nature and our wonderful camp host who is the Empress of the Forest. Shaded in the late afternoon. Magical Trees and Understory. A couple of sites can be seen but at a distance that feels private. Across from the beautiful Beckler R. but accessed easily. Can't say enough good things about our camp host. But to mention a few: Keeps us informed. The pit toilets are kept cleaner than I've experienced anywhere! Our site was clean, fire ring and grounds. We extended our stay and the host juggled the system to make it happen. There is no facility in the campground to fill an RV water tank. But there is an electric pump driven water fountain and a faucet to fill jugs. The water is very good. Services are nearby in Skykomish. We purchased firewood and snacks. Additional services a bit further away in Index. We took the turn off of Hwy 2 onto Old Cascade Highway (Dont miss this scenic drive.) to the parking area for Iron Goat Interpretive Site. We hiked up to the viewing area and an old railway tunnel. Most excellent forest and unusual rewards at the top. On the return to the campground you can stop at the Deception Falls parking area. Walk the whole loop. Take the walk under the bridge or you could miss something special.

The camp host was wonderful and the campsite was well taken care of. Bathrooms were clean and there was water available at the site. Host also had wood for sale.
