the host was something of a recluse, not that he needs to be everybody's buddy but maybe a nod of the head wouldn't hurt but my biggest complaint is that I was not told ahead of time that there was no potable water available on site. and the nearest bottled water would cost $5.95 a gallon, ($1 dollar more that gasoline)

I have always loved Beckler River Campgound. Most sites are large and many feel like your away from the crowd. Its peaceful and you can hear the beautiful river from every site. I love falling asleep to the sound of that river. This year in particular the camp host has made the place spectacular. Now all the sites are maintained and there are well groomed trails for all the campers to get to the river (not just the sites on the bank). The entire place feels freshly cleaned and well cared for. The pump for water doesn't work (ALL SEASON?? :(, but you can drive 8 min to Money Creek and get water, so it's only a minor inconvenience for such a beautiful and well maintained spot.

The only facility is a pit toilet. No water nor electricity, but we knew all of that before hand. Because of fire danger, wood -fueled fires were banned. There are no hikes from this campground. It is on a river so fisher folks will be happy. There are hikes available to drive to.
