Wonderful camp host and very quiet camp ground. Wonderful location for hiking Baker.

I chose Silver Fir only because it was close to our backpacking trailhead (Yellow Aster Butte trail), but what luck to find out that it is a BEAUTIFUL place, and conveniently located to Mt. Baker area trails. Campsites along the N. Fork Nooksack River are beautiful, lots of mature trees and shade. Restrooms were impeccably clean and stocked. We definitely plan to come back to Silver Fir next summer, it's amazing!

We enjoyed staying at Silver Fir Campground and especially cooling off in the North Fork Nooksack River. We loved the Mount Baker area.

The campground is not as big but it runs by Nooksack River. The site adjacent to us (#20) is right next to the river. Our site was the furthest from the entrance (#21) and had lots of shade, but also had sunny spots. The vault toilet closest to us was kept clean and did not smell bad but the one by the entrance smelled horrible since it is highly used. Water is available through a well pump close to the entrance. Bring a container to fetch water with.

No bear box, we locked our food and cooler in the car. Firepit and heavy solid wood picnic table provided. Bugs were around but as soon as we got the wood fire going, they didn't stick around much. Closest town is Glacier where you can buy ice, firewood and a few camping essentials. We had a very peaceful stay since the river drowned out the noise.

The friendly host always walked around with his dog to check on the sites.

We reserved this spot (#21) because it said trailers up to 38'. We came in a 30' 5th wheel (well under) and were greeted with a grumpy camp host that said we didn't belong there. While tight, we were able to get in the spot and fit our truck off to the side. The easier way to get in is to have someone spot you and go the wrong way down the road then you will have a straight shot of backing in. The spot was very pretty, densely wooded with lots of bugs. River sounds were nice and access was a 5 min walk. No cell and very limited Starlink service.

We had an excellent time
Camping here in mid September. Close to hiking spots and space between sites. Only complaint was camp host was MIA our entire 5 days here.
