although we had reservations for every night of our stay. we had to move sites each night. this was despite the campground being nearly entirely vacant. additionally our visit was cut short as no provisions for tacking on additional days to our visit given the extreme vacancy.

This is NOT a double site. Do NOT pay what I paid unless you are desperate to stay here. I paid almost as much as the group site and was expecting way more room for tents and people. Site 21, which is a single site and half the cost, had more room than we did. So did site 26. Save your money if you have a large group. We ended up using the parking spot for the large tent in the group because there wasn't enough room in the site. Not happy with the site at all. If I had paid for a single, I would have nothing to complain about. But It was expensive and I did not have the room I was expecting.

our kids (9 and 6) had a great time playing in the lake and on the shore. The roped off area for shallower water was nice and the lake was warm!

There are things I liked about this place & things I didn't. Starting w/ the positives: Good spot for family camping & easy lake access. The swim area/no wake zones are well marked/protected - great for kayakers, paddleboarders, floaty devices, etc. I can't speak for all sites, but overall they seemed to be well spaced & offered some privacy from neighbors. Boat ramp is conveniently located.

Now for the negatives: We stayed in 017 Multi which was a decent size, but I don't know why they charge double for it when it's a comparable size to many of the single sites. $60 a night (after taxes/fees) is overpriced for a site like this, especially considering the campground doesn't have any flush toilet bathrooms (they're "under maintenance" & based on others' reviews, have been non-functioning for over a year). Speaking of toilets, the smells from the pit toilets definitely wafted through our site on a regular basis. I suspect this was the case for the other sites in the area as well depending on wind direction. A lot of people would leave the toilet lids open & it really stunk up the place. Earplugs are a must for tent campers to get a good night rest; boat engines kick in as early as at 3:30am, someone's very loud generator ran 24hrs 3 days in a row, and some camp groups were loud, REALLY LOUD. Saturday night we overheard an angry person confront the large, drunk party in a nearby site after 11pm to be quiet w/ minimal success. We also heard two drunk ladies shouting at each other in another campsite the same night. One neighbor let their barky dog run loose through our site early in the week. Don't get me wrong, I like dogs, but I don't care for lousy dog owners. There was no camp host during the week; there was a camp host couple on the weekend though.
Make sure to pack bug repellent as many, many hungry mosquitos will greet you upon arrival. We were grateful the thermacells, citronella candles & bug dope we brought worked pretty well.

A trailer fresh water fill up station would be great! Or, have a few of the water spigots along the road fitted with threaded ends for a hose hook up. Otherwise, fantastic stay!
