Now for the negatives: We stayed in 017 Multi which was a decent size, but I don't know why they charge double for it when it's a comparable size to many of the single sites. $60 a night (after taxes/fees) is overpriced for a site like this, especially considering the campground doesn't have any flush toilet bathrooms (they're "under maintenance" & based on others' reviews, have been non-functioning for over a year). Speaking of toilets, the smells from the pit toilets definitely wafted through our site on a regular basis. I suspect this was the case for the other sites in the area as well depending on wind direction. A lot of people would leave the toilet lids open & it really stunk up the place. Earplugs are a must for tent campers to get a good night rest; boat engines kick in as early as at 3:30am, someone's very loud generator ran 24hrs 3 days in a row, and some camp groups were loud, REALLY LOUD. Saturday night we overheard an angry person confront the large, drunk party in a nearby site after 11pm to be quiet w/ minimal success. We also heard two drunk ladies shouting at each other in another campsite the same night. One neighbor let their barky dog run loose through our site early in the week. Don't get me wrong, I like dogs, but I don't care for lousy dog owners. There was no camp host during the week; there was a camp host couple on the weekend though.
Make sure to pack bug repellent as many, many hungry mosquitos will greet you upon arrival. We were grateful the thermacells, citronella candles & bug dope we brought worked pretty well.
