Lovely campsites. Clean restrooms. Appreciate the E Loop - no generators! Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay in loop d. The facilities were clean and the campground was quiet. The evening ranger talk was interesting and well planned.

I love that campground. There is stargazing at the Paradise visitor center and it is absolutely amazing. We did two hikes that were close to the campground and had a great experience with nature. I highly recommend this campground.

Many, including entire loops, of campsites continue to be closed since last year due to "tree hazards". Also, it was extremely inconvenient that the RV dump station was closed. We had to drive out of our way to find an alternative to dump our gray/black water. Why was the dump station closed prior to Labor Day Weekend? Finally, my family and I were very disappointed that there were no interpretive presentations with the rangers. We have visited Cougar Rock for several years and also look forward to this fun, educational program.
Are all these issues due to a lack of federal funding? If so, I hope it changes.

i guess anything about Mt. Rainier going to be excellent :)yeah, don't forget to come with full tank of gas, as no gas stations in the park (don't count on historic gas station at Sunrise as it is what it actualy called, just a history) i had to drive on neutral from Sunrise down to the town of Packwood on low gas hoping not to get stranded at night, That part was not fun but luckily even after taking wrong turn continuing on WA410 and driving up to the Naches peak trailhead and back to the junction i was able to reach gas station in Packwood and it had gas available :)

Mt. Rainier is beautiful! There are plenty of hikes from the campground and fun things to go see. Our site was outstandingly beautiful.

Cougar Rock Campground within Mt. Rainier National Park is an excellent car camping campground for families: Plenty of bathroom facilities, easy access and large campsites; firewood for sale; there is an amphitheater located in the campground for nightly ranger talks and opportunities for kids to earn their Junior Ranger badge! Typically if booked far enough in advance you can find plenty of campsites to choose from.
