We enjoyed camping here very much. Beautiful location and convenient to hiking in the park. The road noise was not very noticiable during the day and quieted down completely after dark. Facilities were clean and the rangers were very helpful.

The campground was great. The ranger registering me was friendly and efficient, The campsite was great. The bathrooms were clean and worked well. I enjoyed a walk around the site. It was beautiful with large trees and forest.

We stayed at Cougar Rock for two nights with our toddler. The first night (campsite D11) we ended up next to some very noisy RV campers (cooking meals at 11 PM, elementary-aged children yelling, and headlamps flashing at our tent until after midnight). We spoke with Josh at the Ranger Station and he was so kind and moved us to a more secluded campsite. The next night was perfect-quiet and private. Would definitely stay here again if we could snag a more private campsite!

A fine campground, especially if you want to spend time at Longmire or Paradise. The walk to Longmire, on the Wonderland Trail, is pleasant and easy, about a mile and a half and 500 feet down. Many good trails out of Longmire if you feel like a longer hike from there. From Cougar Rock you can also walk the Wonderland to Reflection Lakes or even Paradise, but it's longer with much more elevation gain than the Longmire hike.
