Cougar Rock was a great home base as we explored Mount Rainier National Park. I would return there if I was interested in that part of the park. The park is so huge that I would probably try a different campground just to explore a different area. But Cougar Rock was close enough for us to hike at Paradise Inn and Longmire Museum areas. Beautiful waterfalls everywhere along the wonderland trail.

lots of trees and most campsites have share, clean bathrooms, no showers, not far from Paradise are where they have breakfast and lunch there, also not far from Longmire, with restaurant at the INN, you can get Ice there.

In a decent location in the park. Could have been taken care of a little bit more but manageable.

Wish they had electricity at sites. Phone signal was also a problem - none. Campground was too primitive for a five star rating, but running water in bathrooms was nice. Also many sites were closed because of hazard trees — campground needs some serious maintenance and upgrades to become the excellent type of campground that a national park deserves.

Great campground. Each site is spacious With fire pit and table. Bathroom has flush toilet and is clean. The campground is well maintained. Most of ppl there were quiet except some car alarm went off early morning which woke up most of ppl.
