In general, the campsite is good. The campsites are separate enough to have some privacy and they have enough shade to help cool the sites. The fire pit is good, alongside the tables and such that come with the site. There were a few issues with the campsite. Mainly, the bathrooms are very rough. Toilets and showers were always gross. They definitely need an upgrade. Probably will come back

Check in was easy. The fire pit was much better than expected, with an 18" high wall and swing-arm grill. The campground was clean and quiet. The shower had warm water, although no heating in the building. Location is very convenient to Seneca Rocks and Dolly Sods and Spruce Knob.

We LOVED out time at Seneca Shadows. It was the perfect escape from the craziness of 2020. We got a double campsite in Loop B, which was super spacious with two places to pitch tents and two picnic tables. Unfortunately the water was out in our loop (A-B) but the staff handled that perfectly and our experience was no worse for it. We would drive a short way to Loop C, fill our sealed buckets and containers with water and bring them back to camp to use. We had portable toilets in our loop, which were pristinely clean. We camped from Friday-Sunday, and although other campers were in and out, it felt very secluded and like we were by ourselves most of the time :) The staff was extremely friendly. But just a note: they do not greet you on the way into your campsite! You have to drive to the manager's quarters between Camp areas B and C, and just drive up and check in/buy firewood there. The hikes nearby are GORGEOUS. We went to Seneca Rocks Trail which was a tough uphill trek, but the rock views at the top are spectacular and WELL worth it. We also went to Spruce Knob/Spruce Mountain in the same day, which was a nice contrast as you can drive to the top views and do a breezy calm walk around the trails there, the foliage was gorgeous and the views as well! We would love to come again when we get the chance :)My one complaint might be that the showers were a little old and didn't feel that comfortable to me, it would be nice if they could get a bit of an update. But overall, not a deal breaker.
