Did the smart thing and went during the week since we had a three and a half month old. Caretakers drove past everyday, spots were clean and level, everyone was friendly. Couldnt have asked for a better week.

Seneca Rocks is one of those remarkable landmarks that is worth hanging out near for a full week like we did. It looks different every time of day, with sun, clouds, at noon, at dusk. We were so comfortable at Seneca Shadows campground - really clean and pretty, a good amount of wildlife from Io moths to American toads to chippies and bunnies. And deer on all the roads nearby. The swimming hole in town was excellent for our dog to cool off and play fetch, and for us too! And the hike up to their rocks is amazing - we made it halfway. We drove all over Monongahela Forest looking at sights, and LOVED Blackwater Falls State Park, too - really good hikes there. Wow, West Virginia, you are amazing! And thank you Seneca Shadow and Yokums for making our week a really relaxed time.

The site was lovely and it was easy to set up. The managers and site hosts were very kind and helpful.

Stayed 2 nights at Seneca Shadows campgrounds in spot 21b on October 17, 2021. Campgrounds were clean as was the rest room and showers. Hiked all around the grounds and a definite is the Sunrise Trail even if you don't go at sunrise. Great view of Seneca Rocks. Hiked up to the overlook at Seneca Rocks and it was beautiful. At the information center the people were very helpful and knowledgeable plus a lot of information about Seneca Rocks (also very clean place). Ate lunch at Gateway Restaurant just down the road which has great food. A must go to place to eat. Also went to Spruce Knob, the highest mountain in WV. We enjoyed our stay and will go back.

Camp site was great. Sites are spaced well. I was disappointed at the price of firewood at the camp ground but other than that we had a great time

No one, including host at check-in, informed us the men's shower did not work on loop B. When asked to move to a loop that had a shower they said no and to use the women's shower. The women's shower did not have hot water as the shower has a push button so no temp adjustments. Also, we reserved a double tent site, I even called them to verify 019,B was a double when making the reservations. However, when we arrived there was only one tent pad at 019,B. We left the tent's setup but ended up sleeping in Yokum's motel for the next 3 nights. The area is beautiful and campground is nice but I'd not recommend it unless you are self contained camping.
