Great place to camp

My favorite place to camp & eclipse totality viewing was a huge bonus! It is the best site for all age groups which is great if you camp with your family and you have Great Grandparents enjoying their children, grandkids and great grandkids. The large, well-kept sites with concrete pads and full hook-ups also caters to all "generations". Great cell service for those who require it. The paved walking/bike trails are wide, very well maintained and lead to stunning scenery. We have graduated to electric bikes so we ride everywhere the kids ride, always into the new Greenville to get ice-cream. You can also ride your manual bike into the new Greenville and purchase an electric bike! There is river access for fishing or enjoying the view. There are large playgrounds, various sport courts and equipment rentals for bicycles or whichever sport court appeals to you. What I find the most unique about Greenville Recreation is touring the old, historic town of Greenville "Memory Lane Trail" right there on site. Reading the history of what was once located on the remanence of a foundation, the sidewalks and even streets. The old town of Greenville moved due to major flooding and plans to build the Wappapello Dam. There is also a small, Civil War-era graveyard. The Trail of Tears historical markers are also on site and nearby at Bettis Ford as these locations were where "more than 1,100 Cherokees passed through Old Greenville on their Trail of Tears journey to the Indian Territory, in what is now Oklahoma." Literally something for everyone to do!

Always a clean and comfortable campground. We ha e enjoyed all the sights we have been in. My only complaint is there are no recycle bins, as we do a lot of recycling
