Very nice park. Restrooms were very clean, and the camp sites were spacey. The steps leading down to our fire pit and picnic table were very safe. No worries about tripping. Management was very nice. We were a bit confused about where to place the campsite tags. I believe we were told to put one inside the camper, which was different than other parks we have stayed. But not a huge issue, next time we will get better clarification. Would definitely choose to stay at Baxter again in the future.

We have been boating and camping at Baxter for almost 20 years now and this season has been rough. Flooding, minimal camp host presence, now no maintenance staff anymore. Baxter was great, but seems to be dropping fast. cars and boas all over the grass this past weekend could hardly pull through the site. There is nobody checking the sites anymore or cleaning up. I'm sure there are reasons especially with the flooding closing half the site for the season, but we really miss the days of having camp hosts that engaged with people in the park and made sure boats and additional vehicles were parked at the boat ramp lot or at least not blocking half the road, and friendly maintenance that did a good job and would stop and chat with you. We had that for a long time at Baxter, but that unfortunately seems to be changing for the worse.

Nice campground, we just picked one of the hottest weeks to be there. Beautiful lakeside campgrounds with decent spacing between sites.

We enjoyed our time at the Baxter campground. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. The lake was very high and flooded the lower campground so the lower loop was closed for camping. However, it allowed campers to have access to the water other than at the swim beach. I saw people swimming and fishing in the empty camping spots. One of the maintenance men also helped us when our electric awning stopped working and we needed a ladder and a drill in order to close it manually (he said he does this a few times a month!). We booked this last minute and were happy to find a spot that was relaxing and quiet. We enjoyed the sunsets over the water and cooking our dinners on the campfire grill. We will definitely be returning.

For over fifty wonderful years, my familymy parents, sibling, husband, and our boys along with their familieshas cherished our visits to Baxter campsite. Weve created so many lovely memories during this time, and we truly value every moment spent here. Recently, though, weve noticed a bit of a drop in maintenance, which I think might be due to the recent flooding. Were really hoping that when we come back, the flood debris will be cleared away nicely. We did find the restrooms to be quite clean, which we appreciated, but the state of the campsites could use a little extra love. We came across some litter on our site that we felt needed our attention to clean up, and there were quite a few flies buzzing around, which was a bit bothersome in the area that needed to be cleared. Plus, we noticed there werent any trash receptacles near the dump station, making it a little tricky to get rid of our rubber gloves and personal items. And the water hose being turned off didnt help either, as it limited our efforts to clean up the dump area after use. While these might seem like small issues, I really believe its important for all of us to work together to keep the beautiful standards of our Corps of Engineers' National Parks high, ensuring that future generations can enjoy them just as much as we do!

Very clean and well organized park. A lot of time and designing of each camp spot can be seen in the details.

Thoroughly enjoyed camping at Baxter Campground. Impressed that the crew evidently cut the downed wood and left it stacked at most every site. It was quiet, peaceful & beautiful.

Second visit to Baxter. In site 38 this time. The park is well kept, restrooms and showers always clean. The site is directly under the power lines so I wouldnt choose it again but I had a fantastic 6 days anyway. One of my favorite campgrounds. Highly recommend.

The tree at the back of the campsite was in a bad place. We backed too much and broke one of the top lights.

Had no lake view due to the grown up brush along the shore.

Nice campground. Park Host Barbara was friendly and helpful, and answered all our questions. The custodian (Mike) was helpful also, and the bathrooms were kept tidy and clean. The swimming area is big with picnic tables nearby. While there is gravel leading TO the water, once you're in the water, the rocks are treacherous. I've been to nearby COE swimming areas that have gravel past the waterline (like Aunts Creek), which makes it much easier and enjoyable to swim. Please do the same at the Baxter campground!

This was an absolutely beautiful spot. It was clean and easy to get into although it wouldn't handle an RV much if any larger than our 25' View. Even though it was right next to the swimming beach and close to the marina, it was quiet. We will return to Baxter Campground for more camping!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
