The site is amazing, great size, fairly level, almost seems secluded, right next to the playground and extra parking next to it. The hosts are always so friendly and helpful. I just wish they would clean out the fire pits more often. Also, maybe put up 2 boxes to return tickets. The one by the dump isn't very accessible when others are there dumping, especially or those of us who don't use the dump.

Camp site was large with nice concrete patio and built in fire pit. Playground equipment plentiful and in good shape for the kids. Campground was quiet and well maintained.

Lot 116 in Little Blue Stem was extremely spacious with full hook ups, a big concrete patio, a built in fire pit and a nice aluminum picnic table. The playground was directly behind us which was a big hit with our grandchild. Accommodations were perfect for our 42 foot 5th wheel. The boat launch at Ray Behrends was an ideal place to launch and remove our kayaks. Our only criticism is that we paid for their internet and were never able to connect.

We always enjoy our stay because the sites are so generous in size, the grounds are always well kept, staff and patrons seem to keep to themselves. Those we do have contact with have always been friendly and helpful if need be. We use the time at our site as a base camp while making day trips to special locations we've learned during yearly returns, plus we absolutely enjoy days walking our dogs, paddling kayaks, doing some fishing and taking in the wildlife.Their are wineries nearby south towards Herman just across the Missouri River on Highway 19. The Katy Trail for bikers and strollers is just north of the river and if you care to venture towards St. Louis it's a nice road trip, almost like driving in a miniature Germany valley out to Augusta. There are activities in nearby Hannibal and Quincy, the Paris birthplace of Mark Twain plus a museum. Store goods and services can be purchased in nearby Perry or Monroe City and others.
