First impressions were as follows, absolutely no shade, and be careful where you step in the grass or you’ll be stepping in dog shit. Why people don’t pick up after their dogs should be allowed to have them! We went west for vacation and almost all the camp sites had doggy bags and trash cans scattered around the campgrounds. But anyway without shade it’s impossible to keep it cool on hot days. The cove is a great place to park you boats if they would at least cut a path to get to the bank. The weeds were 3’ tall with little to no path other than where people have stomped the weeds down. And don’t forget there is no water hookup’s so don’t forget to fill your tanks. Other than that I think the park is a nice place where I see lots of shaded spots but just not where we stayed. When looking at the site online it looked like there would be some shade. They also have a shower house and I was told it was nice and clean but we didn’t use them. A lot of nice places at this park just make sure you pick one.

Shower house sink was leaking into the middle of the floor. Red wasps nesting around shower house and several campsite lantern poles. Grass needed mowed. Campsite was good though. Plenty of shade and trees for hammocks. Local sheriffs and park ranger patrolling and keeping everyone safe. Campground host was very friendly and helpful.

Nice and quiet, people fishing from boats and on the banks. Watched the geese with their babies.

Most of the sites had water views. I was in site 30. I wanted to see the pelicans, which I had read were at Stockton lake but did not see any. As a matter of fact, the only birds I saw were blue herons and vultures. I was little disappointed with that. I went for a walk along the shore and that was bit difficult because of the large rocks but doable. You have to walk slow and steady. While walking I encountered a deer in the woods that was grunting and stamping its feet at me so I cut my walk short. It was a doe so I'm not sure what that was about.

The campground was full and pretty noisy during the day but when quiet hours came it was quiet. Everyone we encountered was very pleasant.

My husband went fishing and caught quite a few fish - catch and release. I am not sure how high the water normally is but the swimming area was only about 20 feet wide from the beach to the rope.

The bathrooms were older but clean. There were 2 spots to dump the tanks at the end of the trip. So many campgrounds only have 1 so that made things easier when it was time to leave. There was a spigot to hook my hose up to use the black tank flush.

Overall I have no complaints with the campground and would stay here again.
