A very nice campground with abundant shade, nice bicycling. Part of a very large park complex, apparently built in anticipation of much larger volume of use.Again, another Mississippi ACOE campground which locks all of its laundry rooms for use by staff only.

A breath of fresh air after nearly 10 months of traveling the US, Dewayne Hayes Campground did not disappoint. It was recommended by the manager of a local RV Park which was full. Many of the sites are on the banks of a river. Site 89 has a great view. There are only two pull-through sites, 86 and 66, and I hope only people who truly need them will use them. Sites are well-spaced, roads are in great condition. Facilities are clean, cared for. There is a boat launch, too.

The campground is always exceptionally maintained and the park hosts are very helpful as well as personable. We always enjoy our stay! Look forward to camping again soon.

Great camping experience. Clean facilities and well kept. Friendly staff and very helpful. Site #89 did not disappoint. Excellent view. Highly recommend!!

We wanted a nice getaway on our way to be with family for Thanksgiving. What a gem!!! We only had one night so it made it easier to get a prime campsite on the waterway. I called the office and a young man suggested which site to take from what was available. Not only was the site perfect, the entire campground was one of the best weve had. Plenty of space between campers, a nice mix of trees and walking paths, and wonderful waterway views. I enjoyed hearing the sound of the barges that night and then got to see one the next day. My husband was familiar with the nearby charming town of West Point so we were able to take a late afternoon cruise of the beautiful old homes and then had a wonderful early dinner in town. The grounds were tidy and both the staff and other campers were friendly. Couldnt ask for a better camping experience!

We love it at Dewayne Hayes! This is probably our favorite campground. The kids love riding bikes on level ground. (No large hills like other campgrounds) They have a playground which is hard to find at other parks, believe it or not. They also have swings the kids enjoy. They have nice waterfront views and even sewage hookup at some sites. The sites arent on top of each other like other campgrounds. I am sad that the splash pad is no longer available. The campground host (Mr. Randy and his wife, Mr Virgil and his wife and Mrs Elsie & her husband) are great people and very helpful.

Great place for kids to ride bikes. Clean restrooms and showers. The grounds were manicured. And the gate attendants and host were very friendly and helpful.
