Pleasant campground. Good spacing between sites. Enjoy the walking trails and the town of Ocean Springs. However, the entrance gate gets locked at sunset, and although the gate code was supposed to be sent with the confirmation email, my email did not contain the code. Fortunately another camper was able to let me in. To those handling the confirmation emails: make sure to include the gate code.

Love Davis Bayou mainly for it's location and the cleanliness of the campground. There are several sites that are very short and super low towards the back, with this in mind we always try to reserve the same site each time. for safety and security reasons.

When we arrived there were storm warnings for the next day. They did a very good job informing the guests where to go and preparing for the possible storm.

The park was lovely, clean and quiet. Both the hosts in spot 3 were very nice and helpful and the park ranger was also nice. We had a great time and will definately be back.

We always enjoy this campground. The camp hosts and ranger take excellent care of it. The new asphalt pads are wonderful. There is a lot to do in the area. Verizon signal from 2-4 bars. TV had several channels but signal cuts in and out. The shower house needs improvement, it lacks airflow and is dark so mold is a problem. Water pressure also low and fixtures need to be updated.

It would be helpful upon checking in if the gate code was given to us. We had to leave at noon for an unexpected visit to urgent care and were sent to the hospital emergency room and did not leave there until 7:30 PM. Needless to say, we were locked out of the campground. The gate code was the last thing on our minds.

Camp hosts were so nice. Led us to our spot, told us about all the amenities, and then checked on us later. So awesome. Campground was full but very quiet. Area and bathrooms were very clean. One of the best state parks we’ve been in.

Camp site was spacious and had some nice trees. Campground overall was quiet although the raccoons did raid our site one night! Bathroom was clean. Visitor center was nice and also had a great view of marsh. Nothing negative to report. Worked remotely during stay had good signal with AT&T.

Park was very quiet, which we loved. Everything was EXTREMELY clean! We did have a few issues that we wish we would have known about ahead of time. They came knocking on our door at 7:30am our first morning there. My husband had one tire on the dirt area because his truck wouldn't fit all the way on the asphalt due to the fact that we couldn't back up our camper all the way to the bumper. There was such a huge drop off at the end of the spot that our jacks wouldn't reach. If all 4 tires do not fit on the asphalt camper area, you have to park quite a ways away to park your vehicle and walk to back your spot. There is defintely no room for another car to park as well if you want visitors unless they park in the other parking area and walk to meet you. Our spot (spot 20) was also not very level (which wasn't a problem, we just used our blocks). With that being said, we would go back. It's a lovely area. The park is beautiful as well as the little town of Ocean Springs. I've never been in a campground with cleaner showers and restrooms. Next time, we will just get one of the few spots that we know will fit both our camper and truck all on the camper spot. I just think the park regulations needed to be very clear on the parking situation. We've never been in a park where you couldn't have a tire on the dirt area so we weren't expecting that. Also, we LOVED the quietness but know there was no loud music and golf carts all over with noise. No partying either. Not sure if it just happened that way while we were there or if those are rules that are also strongly enforced.

The Rangers and Hosts have been very accommodating. We had to move around a lot for one of our 14 day reservations and they were all very nice.

The last time we visited Davis Bayou campground (about 4 or 5 years ago) it wasnt in the best shape, but there was something about the place that spoke to us. We just spent two weeks at the campground and it recently been reopened after a renovation. The campground is like new, the campsites have new asphalt pads and everything was sparkling clean. The staff members that we met were great, too. We hope to pay them another visit one day.

We love this campground , we use to live in the area. We visit friends , go to our fave restaurant . Listen to the fishing boats leave in the am .

Sites were level, but very little privacy. Campground was clean and quiet. Close to stores, restaurants, gas, etc. Wifi (T-Mobile) was acceptable. Water and electric only no full-hookups, but dump station was convenient. Nor much to do in the campground area.

Even though the campground was nearly full, it was very quiet. I don't know that I have every experienced such quiet in a full campground. We saw small gators which was fun. We did a short walk in the woods. One of the trails was closed due to hurricane damage. We took our dogs to the local beach which was dog friendly and we ate at some great places in Ocean Springs (The Government Street Grocery and Charred).
