This was a surprisingly nice campground! The sites and facilities are well maintained and the fall weather (visited in November) was perfect for camping with few bugs and moderate humidity. Ray at the check-in shack was extraordinarily helpful and had good recommendations for what to do in the area. The campsite was quiet with a nice view of the river and access to the water. We went fishing from kayaks and it was a great experience.

We only stayed overnight at Whitten Park and found it to be a relatively nice place to stay. Our site was number 28, it is a standard site with Water and Electric hookups. It was 100% shaded and backed up to the lake but access and view of the waterfront was limited due to tree/brush growth.Exploring the park we found the bath/shower houses to be exceptionally clean. Some of the amenities could use a little maintenance, but nothing of major concern.Overall, while short, we enjoyed the stay, and would visit again when in the area.

Bathrooms can be better as far as maintenance. One of the shower heads was zip tied up. Love how sites are shaded

What a delightful spot to escape! We tucked in after a couple of days travel and stayed two nights near the end of October. The campground is clean and well maintained. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. We will keep Whitten Park at the top of our list for stays when passing through this part of the country.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds!!! It is well run and well kept. The Whitten Historical Center is wonderful!! I love the trails in between each loop. The basketball and tennis court adds a little something that makes it fun. There is plenty to do in Tupelo if you want to go anywhere else. We loved it and will definitely be back after the renovations are completed.

The park is very quiet, even on weekends. Generally tall, dense tree canopy overhead ensures lots of shade. Very good walking trails between the three loops. Very good water pressure.
Some sites such as ours need a bit of TLC. The wood beams outlining the campsites are severely rotted in many cases and need replacing. Overall, though, a pretty good park to stay in.

Our original reservation was Site 30. When we arrived we found work had been done on the water main, at the entrance to the site, and our pad had about an inch of dirt that had been washed into it. With rain predicted, we asked to be moved to a different site. It cost us $12.00 to do the move. The park is in bad need of some general landscaping love. It could, and according to the locals, used to be a very nice park. I hate to see such beautiful places deteriorate like Whitten Park is. Will we be back? Absolutely! Whitten Park is quiet, clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

What a beautiful and well managed park. The spaces are, for the most part, large and easy to back our fifth wheel into. The restrooms are some of the nicest and cleanest Ive encountered in any government park. Great views of the canal from many of the campsites. We stayed in #28 and would love to come back the next time we come though.

Great Park. Great place to stay if you are getting work done at Tiffin in Red Bay. About 45 minutes away and really beautiful place to wait for service.
