Our family had a delightful time. We needed rest and relaxation, and the park was just right. Everyone was helpful, the sites were clean, and we plan to return.

We love camping here. It's always peaceful and quiet after dark. They have a nice restaurant near by called Guy's Place. Fulton also has a Walmart Super Center near by too.

Park's host was rude.Park has camping spots too closely located to each other. We were told we would have to change spots because we were not in the right one, so we left during the night.I will never go back to this campground.

Pretty park on the banks of the Tenn-Tom waterway. Clean restrooms, very quiet. Lot of walking, bike trails along the levee.

We stay at Corps of Engineers parks frequently as almost full-time travelers. Whitten is a true gem of the COE parks. The staff is competent, helpful and unobtrusive. Facilities are clean and well maintained. Roads are in good shape. If you walk through the woods behind the bath house in the northern loop, there is a marina with a reasonably priced restaurant on the other side.People from the area around the park stay there, especially on weekends. Halloween at Whitten is a really big deal. Locals told us that the community pitches in to help maintain the park due to diminished funding. We were told that the local Boy Scouts do projects there to help out.The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway abuts the park. Barges and pleasure boats pass frequently. The park has a large boat ramp area and a historical site for the namesake of the park, Jamie L. Whitten.Sunsets over the water are spectacular. We played disc golf a mile away at the community college. There is a wide, paved bike path that follows the waterway a few miles toward Fulton. Connectivity with AT&T was really good. Verizon not quite as good. OTA channels aplenty. Fulton is very close and has a Walmart, grocery stores, restaurants and cheap gasoline. If you like what COE campgrounds offer, Whitten is a 10/10.
