Nice COE. FHU. Lake very low due to dam issue. Nesting Eagles.

Is one of our favorite stops on our trip down to Florida for the winter we will also be stopping on the way back home.

Enjoyed a week camping at Hernando Point campground Thanksgiving week. Even though water is mostly down due to repair work on the dam, the fall scenery was beautiful! Lots of big trees, deer, squirrels, ducks, etc. the campground was quiet, clean, and campground hosts very helpful. Great location for a getaway while only being 15 minutes from local towns. Always enjoy our time here.

Nice campground. Full water,sewer, electric hookups. Campsites are spaced so you have plenty of room between sites. Lots of trees and wooded area. Many sites had lake view. Bathrooms/showers were clean. Nice flat winding paved road was great for long walks and plenty of room for bike rides. Good for tents, any size travel trailers and RVs. Very safe, secluded and quiet campground but only 15 minute drive to nearby town with restaurants and shopping. Lake fishing for those with boats. Cant wait for our next trip here.

Site 26, nice site. Very level. Beautiful in the morning. But very sunny & hot from around 3:00p until the Sun went down. Wouldn't be that bad if cloudy.

The sites are not labeled correctly on Recreation.gov or google. We were in site 26 that was listed 24. There is no check in booth and beach was closed. The picture of some sites listed of recreation.gov are either old or incorrect. We had little shade and are disappointed that something as simple as labeling sites and providing accurate pictures is not being done at this campground. Campsite was quiet at night and many people appear to live at the campground, rotating in and out as required.

I was going to give this park a much more harsh review until I learned that it had been hit hard by a tornado a couple years ago. DO NOT believe the pictures in the website. Lots of vegetation was knocked out by the storm. It is nice that part of their rebuild is every site now has sewer, which is not noted in the park information that I saw. Only 2 of the 6 shower heads in the men's bathrooms in the park worked. It was nice that they did keep the restroom at a nice warm temperature. Had to take trash to a central location no where near the RV area. I wish this park luck and hope it can recover.Cell service was a MAJOR issue. Although there was a strong cell signal the bandwidth was almost nonexistent. Do not expect to use the internet for either ATT or Verizon.

This is our main layover for our trip south. We love how quiet and peaceful it is. The staff are always friendly. The facilities are always clean and up-to-date. We will be stopping here on our way up north come spring time.

I loved that this campground is back up and running after the devastating tornado two years ago. With the exception of losing a lot of trees the campground was back to its old self. The full hook up was a very pleasant surprise! Hernando Point is a short drive from my home and love to spend quick get aways there
