We stopped for one night on a road trip. It worked well, but the restrooms need updating. The women's restroom was out of toilet paper in 2 out of 3 stalls. The water from the shower comes straight down the wall, so taking a shower is difficult. There was one other handicap stall & it might have worked better. Men's restrooms were not much better. I wouldn't stay more than a quick one-night stop.

Town Creek needs to stay open AT LEAST through November!!! That is the perfect camping weather. It doesn’t make sense that DWayne Hayes stays open all year!

The good: the sites are level, well equipped and huge. Lots of space. The people working the campground office were friendly. The bathrooms were clean, but old.

The bad: we never saw park management past the front gate. There were unsupervised children everywhere darting from behind vehicles into the roadway in front of traffic. The bathrooms were filled with a spider infestation.

The ugly: people got drunk and partied all night very loudly. It was a holiday weekend, but there were engines revving at midnight and past, horns blowing at 2 am, drunk people walking, stumbling and very loudly cackling all night long through the campsites. Dogs running around unleashed into other campsites, with the excuse “oh, he’s friendly.” Very loud music that never ended. No observance of any kind of quiet hours ever. We left after the first night without even having breakfast. Will never be back to this one. This is not how we prefer to enjoy the outdoors.

Great campground. My site was bug infested and my picnic table basically covered in moss and unusable. (This I deducted a star.) if I arrived in daylight I would have changed if possible. But next day when I realized it was too late and too much work to move. Nice bathhouse. Great basketball court and playground. Enjoyed the transportation museum in West Point. Columbus an historic town. Starkville was cool also. Lots to see and do in the area. The host flying the confederate flag was upsetting.
