The campground was lovely, and the park ranger was very helpful. I would highly recommend.

A very pleasant campground. Enjoyed the hiking trail. the only drawback was the noise due to the trains and so close to the highway.

I know its hard to get help but a campground host program might work. Where I have been with hosts they get free camping for a designated number of days/weeks and they doing site cleaning and restroom cleaning as well as check ins . Im retired now so my wife and I would possibly consider hosting occasionally.

Pokegama is a very nice spot to camp for a visit. At times it's noisy enough to inhibit conversation outside, but the sites are nice and the shade trees are awesome. Access to the river is very easy, and it's a short (2.5mi) ride across the dam to Tioga MTB park. Bathrooms were clean, and everything worked. We'll stay there again.

This was our third year camping at Pokegama in early July (2nd year including the 4th of July on same camp site). The view, overlooking the Mississippi river is excellent, something that is very important for us as senior citizen campers. As a senior we are not into lots of activities, but more into less active activities. Something we look forward to are the campground animals (squirrels, chipmunks, gophers & blue Jays). I carry a bag of peanuts when we camp to feed the animals, The Pokegama animals were at their best and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed their entertainment. The restroom facilities are a little bit of a hike, but very clean and well maintained. The campground is also well maintained. Outside of the trains and highway noise, the campground is quiet and very peaceful. Shopping and multiple restaurants are reasonably close, for us we tend to go to various restaurants to eat. We generally try to do brats and corn over the campfire one evening. Overall, an excellent campground and we plan to return to Pokegama for the 4th of July next year, hopefully same site.

Clean, easy to move around, big rig friendly, close to town. Nice, mostly level gravel sites. Near the RR tracks but trains were few and not an issue especially in a motorhome. Well be back!

We have always enjoyed out stay here. Sites are large enough for privacy yet close enough to visit with your neighbors.
Beautiful setting, level sites,

Wonderful smaller campground. not for swimming but good for fishing off the dock. Nice views from most sites. Only negative thing I can say is that silly train that goes right by the campground and it sounds and feels like it's going to come thru your camper it's so close. Floriro's in Cohasset is a wonderful place to eat , and Glens army surplus has everything you need for camping and fishing.
