We love this place! Quiet and convenient. Nice views of the river.

Decently clean and accessible. The regularly running railroad is so close if you end up in a site right next to it you will literally feel the ground shake, much less sleep through the midnight train and its whistle. Do not attempt to camp without earplugs.

The campground water is horribly contaminated with iron. It smells awful and tastes like blood.

I realize this is a small park mostly used for transient camping however it seemed surprisingly (compared to the Army Core of Engineering Campgrounds) lacking in any presence of managing staff. Your pamphlets could use some updating . Generally speaking it is a noisy place with the traffic of cars, trucks and trains. It is beautiful.

YOu may want to inquire about the overwhelming smell in the mid-camp toilets.

Most sites are large and there is plenty of space between sites for privacy. Shade was plentiful. Navigation and parking were easy for our 35-ft 5th wheel except for the turn-around circle at the end of the road, it was a bit tight.

I did not realize sites were reservable so we arrived without a reservation and were greeted by a "Campground Full" sign. I could see several empty sites so I went into to office to check the 'full' status with the ranger. The ranger had no idea, stated I would have to check with recreation.gov. Also, if a site was available it had to be procured via recreation.gov; the ranger could not take payments. Seems to me it would behoove recreation.gov to keep the rangers apprised of the campground status and permit them to sell sites.

There was no internet service, so I had to phone recreation.gov to check for availability. PIA, you have to listen to a full 2 minutes of boilerplate messages before the menu to speak to an agent becomes available. The agent was very helpful, gave me my choice of 3 cancelled sites, and let me pay using the credit card on file (I had an existing recreation.gov account).

Clean shower/restrooms. Sites not too close together.
