One of the nicest COE campgrounds around. As everyone knows there are a lot of them. Campsites are large and level and right on the Mississippi River. Very peaceful except for the occasional trains going by. Trains didnt bother our campsite visitora cute little black bear that was up in a tree and then came down and ran right in front of us.

We had a good experience. Our campsite was right near the water and was large enough for our needs. We had a boat that we were able to park in the parking lot and then launch on the other side of the dam. It wouldve been nice to have a spot to park a boat at the campsite

As expected, Pokegama is a well maintained campground. Only negative is some noise from the nearby US 2, however it quieted down as darkness fell. Very nice woods trail on the far side of the dam. This was our second stay and we will stay again if our travels take us near here.

For the price, you can't go wrong. There's a great view of the river, few mosquitoes, and quiet people. You can see your beighbors but they are a respectful distance away. You can hear the noisier vehicles go by on the nearby highway but that was ignorable. There was also a train that went by around 11pm. Again, the whistle was just once and that was it. I would go back again.
We found the grocery store to be less expensive for wood. They don't provide wifi but our T-mobile phone hotspot worked just fine for my husband to work online all day.
It's a nice clean location that also has a dumping station right there along with drinking water to fill your tank once you arrive.

Very nice campground right on the river. We only got to stay one night, but would definitely go back.

Small, clean campground. Level sites. Our site overlooked the Mississippi River. Loved it. Nice fishing piers. A short walk to some walking trails. Lots of birds in the woods! Quite a bit of road noise from the highway and train tracks that are close by. The 'office' clearly had people working but it was locked up every time we went to visit. They had a bunch of literature we could see through the door about the area that we would have liked to look at but the door was always locked.

We absolutely love Pokegama Campgrounds!!! Easy axcess! We will be returning many more times!!We also did a bit of fishing on the dock, caught a few!! Also walked the trails, just a fun place to camp!!!Thank you, to all who keep the grounds so beautiful!!!!

Great campground right on the Mississippi. Sites are spaced out well. The rangers hosted a dam tour that was very interesting. My family had a good weekend here. Kids are already asking when we can go back. Be sure to check out the Tioga Mine pit a short drive from campground.
