Beautiful campground, very clean and spacious bathrooms, and nice showers. I really liked the private disability combined bathroom and shower room that you can lock from the inside while showering. The one problem was the tent sites, of which there are only 2. One is behind the other, and they are very close together so there is hardly any privacy. Especially if you are in the site right by the parking lot - you are open to the whole parking lot and driveway where everyone exits and enters :( there should probably be just the one tent site at the back there.

Only stayed one night passing through. Site 20 near the dam was adequate other than the train that went by at 4am blasting their whistle for a loooong time. Can imagine it woke up the whole campground. Showers were clean. Easy access off the highway. Good fishing.

We stayed in one of the tenting sites. It is not far to walk your equipment in to the site. There is traffic noise and a train track nearby so be ready for that. The bathrooms were very clean and the water was warm/hot…which is what we needed on a rainy weekend. Across the dam there are very nice hiking trails.

Campsite was beautiful, very well kept. My brother and I are riding our bikes from the Canadian border to the gulf of Mexico. We are trying to use campgrounds where we can. There was only one issue and that was the 4:55 AM train that cam through. The bike (tent) camping is only about 50 feet from the tracks. That would not stop us from staying there again, though.

Not a great place to tent camp. I had a "walk in" site. I think there are only 2 of these here. I saw that it was near a highway in advance so I did not expect a super peaceful secluded tent camping experience. I did not realize that these 2 sites are just yards from an active railroad! I can sleep through highway noise, but no one would be able to sleep through that train! Thankfully it only went by about 10:30 pm and 1:30 am . RV camping is probably fine and I think less close to the tracks. The campground itself seemed well maintained, the bathroom was always super clean, and there are some nice little hiking trails on the other side of the dam. It would be cool if they could get a few walk in sites over on that side.

Absolutely do not book this camp site if you are tent camping. The two tent sites are about 50ft from the main highway and even less to train tracks. The parking lot is right next to campsite 20. When I arrived to camp site 20, there were people sitting at the site's picnic table and all of the parking spots infront of the camping spot, were taken. In order to get to site 21, you have to walk through site 20, there is no privacy. The water public access is right next to site 20 so be prepared for ALOT of traffic. The bathrooms are on the other side of the facility. I was so disappointed with this site, we ended up leaving after only being there for a short period of time.

I love tent camping and really wish campgrounds put more effort into primitive camp sites as much as they do RV sites.
