A lovely, rustic, wooded campground with very little light pollution! Great access to bike trails and beach. We really enjoyed this campground!

Stargaze at the beach!! Bring water shoes for beach walks. The heritage bike trail is outstanding! Don't miss the Leelanau Coffee Roasting Company in Glen Arbor for coffee and unique pastries, and The Grocer's Daughter in Empire for amazing chocolate creations. The shoulder seasons aren't nearly as crowded as the summer season. Learn what poison ivy looks like if camping at the wonderful D H Day Campground - I saw many people wading through it to gather kindling. If you enjoy music, don't miss The Music Museum northeast of Traverse City. I regretted staying only a week because there is so much to do and see in that area - plan on 2 weeks if you can. Love, love, love Sleeping Bear Dunes and my unique 3-level campsite #22! I'll be back.

Best place to camp in Michigan. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION for $20/night?! Firewood and potable water on site, some pretty clean port-a-potty situations. Love this place. I wanna come back every year.

Great campground with most campers doing tent camping. The other campers were quiet and respectful, and the rangers were very helpful. Easy walk to the Lake Michigan beach. We had fun going to the Port Oneida fair and enjoyed being on a site that was particularly private. We will definitely be back again.

If you want to wash the sand off your body, you'll need to go to the dump station and use the water hose there. There's no running water in the restrooms. They are pit toilets. Location is great - a short walk to the beach.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds in Michigan! Lots of room and super close to the beach - great for dogs.
