Close to beach. Ample firewood for sale and public water source. However, there are no showers and the toilets are composting. This was not obvious to us when booking. Campsites are fairly close to each other so not as private as other sites.

Great campsite just a stone's throw from the beach and easy access to walking/hiking trails. I visited at the end of August which was a very busy time, so there was less privacy and I could definitely hear and see my neighbours the whole time. Some sites have more privacy, but you'll have to check the map before booking. Other than that, great location with great amenities!

Short trail to the beach was a delightful surprise.

Very clean, quiet campground. The sites seem spacious for tent camping. It was great going to sleep listening to the Lake Michigan waves hitting the shore.

The Campsite Numbers are NOT displaying on the Map when you have to register for a site at DH Day -- so you can't tell where the site is in the grounds. Surprised to see the fire bricks for sale at the grounds and not wood -- understand the effort/need but miss the days of a real fire. The rangers do a great job and appreciate the service here and at the National Parks.

Clean sites, vault toilets, Bear country precautions, bicyclists heaven, crystal clear calm lake michigan waters, steps from sunrise and sunsets on a long, uncrowded beach. Aaah, what a nice place!
