I've camped here for nearly 70 years (including the horrible storm several years back), and there's no place I'd rather be. I do hate the new reservation system, as it makes it really difficult to get a site. I hope to finish my years of camping in that beautiful place .

I love everything about DH day but the poison ivy is HORRIBLE. Is there nothing that can be done? Every site and walkway are surrounded. My husband is very susceptible and plans not to come on out annual trip with numerous friends because of how bad it is. Please consider doing something to eradicate it and replacing that vegitation with another native plant that is not harmful. Thank you.

Tent camped with our kids for a weekend it was a really nice experience and clean campground. The park rangers were very nice and helpful. The kids sat in on a jr. ranger angler course led by a park ranger Saturday morning they really enjoyed it! We will definitely be back!

Loved the walking distance to the lake and dunes, and loved the friendly assistance at check-in! Easy to navigate area, restrooms were clean and campsites were well marked. We enjoyed our experience and highly recommend!

We arrived for the final nights of our week long vacation, excited to camp at D.H. Day campground. We arrived and were told our site (32, Upper) was the flood zone site of the campground. That all the water that came in when it rained, ran down from multiple areas, into our campsite. This was not listed on the reservation site & I am not sure why they allow a flood zone site to even be used. We were informed if it rained, our site could flood up to 4+. Nearby campers, in addition to a park ranger, informed us of this. Neighboring campsites even showed us pictures from the previous evenings rain and how it flooded. This is acceptable when you are tent camping or camping with dogs, both dogs which we were. It was going to rain that night, so we stayed for the day and ended up leaving since it was going to be storming all night. We left after dinner and on our drive out, it started to thunder and storm. We were highly disappointed that we spent money on a site we didnt even get to stay at and that there was no disclosure anywhere for this sites issue with rain. They just said upon arrival and let us know they didnt have a solution, but were working on one for future campers. Highly disappointed and sad that we had to cut our vacation short due to this since we did enjoy our day in the actual park. If we return to Sleeping Bear Dunes, it will not be at D.H. Day Campground.
