The pit toilets were very smelly and needed to be emptied The trails around the camp were great and we enjoyed swimming in the lake as well as visiting the new by park museums. The volunteers at the museums were excellent we really enjoyed learning about the history of the area. The campground is convenient to other part of the National Seashore and it would recommend it to anyone wanting to see the Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Very well maintained shaded site. Across from water and a short walk to toilets.

I got campsite reserved, Sunday thru Friday. I wanted to stay ome more day Saturday, but no resevations available. Saturday morning a site across from mine became available. I reserved it and moved camp. Saturday night my previous site i left and 2 more sites next to it, along with a lot more sites were left vacant. A lot of no-swows on Saturday. There needs to be a penalty for no-shows. Loss of deposit or something more than just the loss of a one night camping fee. Many people show up wanting to camp, but are turned away because of reservation system and no-shows. On weekends, every sight is reserved, but half stay vacant. Current reservation system is very poor and unfair.
