Great location, but I wish they had actual bathrooms, not vault toilets.

Great biking, right on the trail, and great beach walking.

The park and the lakeshore are beautiful!! The campsites however are a bit too close together and there really needs to be a warning given at check-in regarding the extreme amount of poison ivy surrounding many of the sites. Not everyone knows to watch for leaves of three.

I have been camping at this campground for 40 years. It is always clean and quiet. My frustration since they went to the online only reservation system is that it is nearly impossible to get a site unless you book 6 months in advance. There are always a number of unoccupied campsites. I have seen as much as 1/3 of the campground unoccupied when reservations shows only a few sites available. The system needs to change so that if you havent occupied your site, or they havent heard from you by a certain time, you site becomes available. Also, a number of first come first served sites would be helpful. People book 6 months in advance, then it doesnt work out for them, and the sites go unused. Very frustrating.

All staff were helpful and kind. More than kind. The sites were divine. Although the black flies were at the beach, we stayed at our site and loved it.

Every site in the entire campground is surrounded by poison ivy. While I understand it is a native plant, that's like ignoring a hornet's nest in the bathroom. Oh, the bathrooms. Disgusting, not cleaned regularly, and out of sanitizer. Overall, this campground was actually pretty awful.

Beautiful camp ground. Then only drawback was the entire campground was covered in poison ivy. I realize there isn't anything that can be done in a national park but it was bad.

We were visiting on bicycles during a bike touring trip so had no car. The campsite was very nice, the park staff person who checked us in was incredibly kind and she gave us two food containers to store our food and scented items since we had no vehicle and they are doing a good job of trying to keep black bears from coming into campsites. Our campsite was lovely and we were impressed with the Covid precautions and the cleanliness of the pit toilets.

Been coming here for over 30 years; hasn't changed except ever so slightly better pit toilets, water, upkeep. Close to everything; history, hiking, skiing, Art's Tavern, IGA, cycling, swimming, dunes and views of a freighter through Manitou Passage.
