Sites were very clean. Access to lake is close with many collectable stones on beach. Nearby towns are quaint. The shopping and dining experience is great. There is an amazing putt putt golf nearby too. The access to Sleeping Bear dunes, and Pierce Stocking drive is less than 10 minutes drive from DH Day campground. Also don't miss the Philip Hart welcome center.

I always arrive after the Rangers go home for the evening so I use recreation.gov to claim my site. It is easily accomplished by looking at the list of sites that are available and choosing one. I like the fact that you can enter a passcode number for the discount.

We LOVE DH Day Campground. The campground hosts are friendly. The staff was well informed and alerted us to any impending weather or animals that might be around the area. The programs hosted by staff during our staff were educational, interactive and fun! The beaches were clean. Our site was clean and quiet. Visiting DH Day is a highlight of our summer every year.

The D. H. Day Campground is wonderful. The campsites are well maintained and shaded by beautiful trees. They are spaced apart nicely. Campers can feel like they are in their own private space. The gorgeous beach and Glen Haven are a short walk from the campground. The location is centrally located to everything the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore has to offer.

Stayed in a small non-electric spot, still plenty of space and close to the beach and outhouses.

The sites are very close together... so no privacy and not really quiet, don't expect an experience with lots of solitude. Beautiful forested setting and good rates.

Our family enjoyed our very first camping trip here! Already came back for a repeat visit and will continue. Restaurants/stores around close early! Be prepared!
