I sleep in a hammok and DH Day's camp site had 2 perfectly spaced trees for me to string my hammok to. The sky was clear and with a new moon the Milky Way was visable. The camp was quiet and peacefull and I slept well. Water and pit toilets were close by. The beach was gorgeous. The Sleeping Bear Heritage Bike Trail runs through it right about in the midle of the route so I could ride equal distance to each terminus. I'm most drfinately comming back here.

Amazing location, spacious sites, and well maintained bathrooms (albeit pit toilets) what more could you ask for!Camp host was also super nice.

Overall, the campsite, office admin, and property were excellent. Interaction with campground host was unsatisfactory with disregard to our property and guy lines for the tent and flies. He did not identify himself and approached as a potentially inebriated camper as well as did not respond to our warnings about the guy lines. He muttered concerns about our tiki torches without explanation. We understood the risk and extinguished them in a timely manner despite the lack of explanation on the specific regulation of the campground which was not found on the hand out or through subsequent search online.

Beautiful park, stayed one night. Thoroughly enjoyed the boardwalk to the beach. I’d love to return in a warmer time of year.

Awesome location and easy beach access. Near to attractions of northern Michigan’s lower peninsula. Sleeping Bear has a lot to offer. If you are a biker, it’s on the Heritage Trail. Well maintained roads and camp sites. Toilets were well kept too even if they were vault style. The camp’s volunteer Hosts were very approachable and helpful.
