Overall, the campground is great, and access to the beach a short walk away is truly special. This particular site has a very flat and clear space for setting up a tent, and is close to one of the two-stall pit toilets, which is both a pro and a con. It also feels a bit less private because it is between several other sites. So, unlike sites that have neighboring sites to only one or two sides, this one is directly adjacent to other sites on three sides, with the fourth side being the parking pad and the access road. Not a deal breaker, but we would have preferred a site less visible to others. And the fire pit is set closer to the road than to the back of the site, so hanging around the fire feels more public than private. Nonetheless, a good experience overall.

Just perfect. Quiet, clean, spacious. Outhouses very clean. Wood kept dry. Beach a walk from the campsites.

Camping was busy, it was a holiday weekend. Everything smooth, the registration was very friendly, campsite quiet enough. As a Park Ranger in Az, I wanted to tell all the people breaking branches, and cutting limbs to stop doing it, it is a NP! But without a camp host being around, everyone seems to be doing it.
Otherwise, thanks! Sleeping Bear Dunes and little Glen harbor as my favorite compared to going north to Petoskey.

I've camped at DH Day for many years. I was surprised at how difficult it was this year to make reservations for the time frame and location we wanted, and how crowded it was even after Labor Day, but it's still one of the most beautiful places I know.

Always great camping at DH Day! Hiked Sleeping Bear Point trail, biked Heritage Trail to Point Oneida. Lake Michigan beach time on hot afternoons, spectacular sunsets, cool evening campfires, campers respected quiet hours... perfect late-Summer Michigan weather! Rangers/volunteers friendly & helpful! We appreciate having dog-friendly beach right at our campground! See you next Summer!

Trees provide privacy between spots. Metal picnic tables work well and I like them over wooden tables. There is no flush toilets. The pit toilets smell and radiates bad smells for a large area. This place needs at least one shower building. Even pay showers will work.

Always enjoy staying g at DH Day. The reservation system made it possible for my family to camp without waiting for a FCFS campsite! :)

My children and I have camped, at D.H. Day, every year but one, for the past 13 years. These kids of mine are now spoiled and convince every other campground to this one. The bathrooms are amazingly clean and neve ever smell! The layout of the sites is perfect and other places should take notes. Love the walk and the boardwalk to Lake Michigan, that makes this campground truly unique and special. We will be there, again, this summer, for two weeks and we just can't wait! Thank you for the best camping experience year after year!
