The campground staff were very nice and helpful at check-in and clearly explained all rules. As someone who appreciates nature and enjoys a quiet, spread-out campground, DH Day delivered. The sites were nice with their paved driveway, good quality picnic table and fire ring, spacious and spread out well for privacy from your neighbors. Expectation of quiet rules was well explained, leading to a very respectful campground once quiet hours hit. The bathrooms were nice along with the shows, with the exception of hot water not working in the showers (leading to an ice-cold shower)! Indiana Dunes NP is spread out quite a bit and mixed between urban, residential and industrial areas. The campground was fairly central to a majority of the park and nearby to the bike trail and beach. Despite how urban and industrial the general area was, the campground was tucked off the highway a little bit and you felt a bit more remote. I wouldn't hesitate to camp here again if it naturally worked into travel plans.

The campground staff were very nice and helpful at check-in. The sites were of good quality, nice fire ring, picnic table and space to setup a couple tents, with some privacy. Quiet hours not enforced, a couple nearby campsites felt the need to stay up yelling and laughing past midnight with no enforcement. The pit toilets were kept respectably maintained. Campground was right on the bike trail, near the beach and central to many of the features of Sleeping Bear Dunes. Only complaint having showers would be nice.

People working there are wonderful. The sites are spread out nicely and secluded. The rustic restrooms are clean. A short walk to the beach. The bike trail that goes through the park is super. Rode to Glen Arbor several times and in the other direction to the dune climb. The outer edge of our site was full of poison ivy but certainly not a deal breaker. Looking forward to going back.

DH Day is our favorite up north camping destination. Unfortunately the last couple times, at least one of our nights was ruined by loud campers - very late into the night. When we spoke to the ranger the next AM, she said to speak to a camp host. Camp hosts have no authority, it was disappointing to have the top authority in the park, dismiss us to a volunteer. A volunteer, that campers already breaking rules, are not going to respect.

It's a beautiful campground! The tall canopy of trees and vegetation between campsites helped to give it a more authentic "camping" feel. It's a beautiful place to walk around, with access to Lake Michigan as well as the Sleeping Bear Heritage trail. We loved our campsite and felt it was one of the best in the campground as it was spacious, and also had great spacing from neighboring sites. I rated the campground a 4 out of 5. The addition of a showerhouse and bathrooms with running water would make it a 5/5. Those are the only 2 changes I would make. I think adding electric hookups would disturb the scenery too much. Our site was NOT in the generators-permitted section, which I did not realize at the time of booking, but that was not a problem as the weather was mild and we did not want or need A/C (roughing it, I know!). Overall, a gorgeous campground and we look forward to returning.

We had a fantastic stay at DH Day! This was our first time camping there but it won't be our last. ❤️ The campfires and sunsets on the beach were magical.
The location is great and allowed easy access to the Heritage Trail, Glen Arbor and all that Sleeping Bear has to offer.

My only complaint is the amount of poison ivy. Our campsite was surrounded by it and it was literally everywhere. I feel bad for the people who don't know how to identify it because they will have a nice rash a week later.
