We try to camp at DH Day every summer because it is such a great campground housed within such a wonderful area of the Great Lakes. This year was a wonderful stay!

I've been coming to this campground for over a decade and it is one of my favorite places. The campsites are well-spaced giving you privacy and a feeling of seclusion. You can walk right to the beach, there's a nice bike trail passing through the campground, and Glen Arbor is nearby for food, coffee, or supplies. All of the campground staff and park rangers have always been kind and helpful. My main complaint is that it is overgrown with poison ivy. I always remember there being poison ivy, but this year seemed especially bad. In my twenties I didn't care so much, I just avoided it the best I could and hoped for the best. Now that I am bringing young kids along, it is a full time job keeping them, and their toys out of the poison ivy, which was very thick and along the entire perimeter of our site. My next complaint is the lack of showers. For a campsite this large and popular, you would think it would have showers but it unfortunately does not. We ended up leaving a day early mainly for this reason.Other than that, if you visit in late September, your campsite might be under an Oak tree sending down a barrage of acorns. All in all, it's a great campground that I will definitely continue to visit. I just wish they could bring in goats or do something to get the poison ivy under control and also add showers.

Great campground. Private and so close to beautiful Lake Michigan beach!

A great campsite very close to the most beautiful beach. We tent camped and saw mostly tent campers too. Perfect weather is mid September!

This location is great and the entire camping group is close to the beach. If possible try to pickup local firewood prior to getting to the camping group, as the camp ground only has compressed firewood logs.

Fantastic star gazing! Clean facilities. Lovely stroll from the campground to the dune climb. Really pleasant and helpful park ranger staff.

Loved the private sites and proximity to lake. Our site was spacious and fire pits had a grate if you wanted to cook over the fire. Please note that wood was not being sold on site at our visit, but they provided a list of local sellers. The restrooms are very rustic and can get pretty foul. Otherwise had a great time.
