We have been camping here for 43 years. The campground is always clean and well kept and generally quiet. We went over to Glen Haven to watch the Aurora., great viewing spot. I wish the campground would offer some sites that are first come first severed. Also that if you dont arrive or contact the park by a certain time of day you forfeit your site. There are always sites that are not occupied but are reserved. Many other campgrounds do both of those things.

Beautiful site. Love the access to the bike trail.

Check-in was super easy and the park ranger were very welcoming! Everything at the park was well marked and maintained. We loved our time here and can't wait to plan our next trip!

A nice older campground that is located near most of the Sleeping Bear Dunes scenic spots and hiking trails. There is a pathway to the beach and the Sleeping Bear Dunes Heritage Trail goes right by the campground. It's great for running, walking, or cycling. There is an RV dump and water fill station. The office staff and hosts were very friendly and helpful.

My only real complaint, and it's a pretty big one, is that the pit toilets were awful. The smell was unbearable and the flies were like something out of a horror movie. Lift the lid and and hundreds of flies would swarm out. I can't imagine sitting on the toilet. Fortunately, I had my own bathroom in my campervan. While I was there a septic truck came by and pumped them out but that didn't improve the situation much at all.

Bring any food with you that you think you may need. If you need to shop at the local grocery store expect to pay at least double what you pay at home.

Great stay as always. The lack of Ranger programs this year was disappointing, but hopefully temporary. We don't like all the poison ivy; but, that's a known issue and we come prepared.
