Suggestions for tent campers: Definitely choose a campsite in a no-generator area. The campsites are gravel, so I'd recommend heavy stakes and a good hammer/mallet to get them into the ground, and a tough tarp to go under the tent to avoid tearing the tent floor on sharp gravel. Lots and lots of poison ivy grows in the woods around the campsites (my site was completely and thickly surrounded, as were the others I saw), so stick to open areas and roads. Outhouses are large and well-kept (easily enough room for a parent and a couple of toddlers). There are a couple of outdoor electrical outlets at the ranger station for public use.

When I arrived at the campsite, I was taken aback when the ranger explained that I had to go on-line to get a campsite. I was right there in the campground looking at a credit card reader on the countertop! Lucky for me I had a smartphone and there was a signal, but Holy Cow, really? So much for “primitive” camping.

The campground is a great place and the beach is a few steps away. Pretty nice and informative staff.

location and nature surrounding campground was great, like a dune, lake or beautiful down town but infra of camp was not good that much. if there were clean toilet, shower booth etc., it would be great camp ground.

DH Day has been our tent camping site of choice for many years. This year did not disappoint! We had the best camping neighbors, great weather, and a great chat with the park ranger, who could not have been nicer. Good feels.

Fabulous getaway! Hiking, biking, kayaking, and relaxing around the campfire in one of the most beautiful places in Michigan. What more could you ask for?

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
