We love camping at Platt River. The campground is well maintained and is in a great location to experience the beauty of the Sleeping Bear area. The sites are very large and we love the separate campfire area each site has.

Need more bike trails from lower Platte campground. There is very limited biking options. Plenty by DH day but none on south side

Excellent NPS campground. Clean, roomy sites and good spacing between sites. Clean bathrooms and showers. Sink for washing dishes at the bathroom building. Multiple trashcans throughout the campground. Easy access to Platte River, and a short hike (or drive) to Lake Michigan. One note - you may have to pay to park at the mouth of Platte River (not NPS managed).

Very beautiful setting with most sites having good privacy. No issues with accessibility for sites or the dump station. Can get noisy on the weekends.

Great campground near lots of recreation opportunity in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. Very large and private campsite.

Spacious campsites with plenty of tall trees. Most sites had the picnic table and fire pit to the rear of the sites. Walking trails from all loops to Lake Michigan (about a 1 mile walk). Friendly hosts. Plenty to see and do in the area. Visit Sleeping Bear Dunes. Great small towns to see including Frankfort, Cedar (great yarn shop for the knitters), Glen Arbor (Cottage Books), Empire (Grocery Daughters Candy Shop), and Suttons Bay. Brewery’s and wineries throughout the area.
